Feeding all day is better than having an all-day crying baby isn’t? He also developed a low-grade fever that briefly went up to a high fever (38.6 to 40 degrees C) and he still remained behaved but would not let go of my breast(laugh). Those teething rings, teething biscuits, pain relievers such as ibuprofen, teething gels etc. so far have not proved necessary.
Here’s how I have dealt with my son’s mean "toothies":
- I gave him a lukewarm bath before putting him to sleep (to make sure he will have a blissful sleep)
- A nonstop cool, wet washcloth compress - this helps get his fever down fast, especially when it is high (Which means I didn’t sleep, because I alternated the washcloth compresses to lower his temperature).
- I gave him lots of water to drink and fed him nonstop. That also helped cool down his fever and keept him well hydrated and soothed.
- Last but not least, I gave him a camomille suppository for babies (natural & healthier) when his fever jumped up to 40 C, just to help him relax and sleep better. No other strong medication, because I don’t want his body to get dependent on medicines.
And that’s all. The next day he was back to his old self. The happy go lucky, boisterous baby boy who was running around in every corner of our house. Such a relief!
love and laughter!
